Vasectomy is _NOT_ a proper reversible birth control method and suggesting it for young males that intend on eventually procreating should be criminal. It's rather akin to tubal ligation and have similar success rate (50-80%) and similar success factor for the reversal (age, length of ligation/vasectomy/ etc), though the success rate on tubal ligation reversal is based on successful procreation, so vasectomy could be even worse.
