Ridiculous. A doctor can't make parental approval a condition for prescribing contraceptives for an ADULT. Gwen is presumably 18 at this point. Indeed in many jurisdictions a dr can lose their license for refusing tp prescribe contraceptives to woman who is over the age of consent. That would include Kate in most states.
